Winemaking in Argentina

The origin of Argentine winemaking tradition dates from the XVI century when in the southern region of the American continent, Spanish conquerors found exceptional lands to cultivate vinegrapes.

Later on, they were expanded to the northeast and central west part of the present Argentina territory. By the mid XIX century, a great immigration flow introduced in the country new growing techniques and new grape varieties (French, Spanish and Italian) that substantially modified the Argentine vineyard composition, transforming its wine types and characters.

These immigrants established the first vine grower and winemaker families, starting the rich Argentine winemaking tradition that is today internationally ackowledged due to its noble origin.
