Perini
More than 130 years ago, the immigrants Antonio and Giuseppe Perini arrive in Brazil bringing from Italy the art of transforming grapes into wine, and the image of the Guardian Angel to bless the Valley where the Perini family would live in 1876. They believed that their love for the land, together with the Angel, would give a special flavor to the grapes they grew. Legend or not, the Perini family have produced wines with excellent quality for four generations.
However, the wine production was only begun in 1928 by João Perini. From then on, there has been a gradual expansion and the production process has been improved in all its aspects, starting with the growth of new vitis viniferas varieties through the final product.
In 1970, Benildo Perini, Giuseppe´s grandson and the present director of the company, started the transformation of the small family business, bottling its wine under the brand Jota Pe as a tribute to his father João Perini. With the new family business structure in Farroupilha, the company was prepared to meet the needs of several market segments in different Brazilian states.
Vinícola Perini started its activities in Garibaldi in 1996, when it subcontracted infrastructure to make Casa Perini sparkling wine, a high quality line made exclusively from vitis vinifera grapes grown by the company.
In the same year, Casa Perini brand is also launched for Fine Wines, resulting in products with charismatic personality and great complexity.
In 2005 Perini purchased De Lantier´s facilities in Garibaldi (Bacardi Martini Brasil branch) , increasing its physical manufacturing capacity from 7.5 to 16.5 million liters, starting a vertically integrated production of Casa Perini sparkling wines and improving the technological equipment used for vinification.
Today, Vinícola Perini has 12 hectares of vineyards located in Garibaldi, and 80 hectares in Farroupilha, totaling a 92 hectare area, part of which is to grow grapes of certified European grapevines. In this system, the grapevines are supported by “Y” shaped structures, ensuring the production of high quality fruit. Nowadays, Vinícola Perini offers a wide range of grape products including Premium Sparkling Wines, Fortified Wine and Perini Juice, Casa Perini Wines and Sparkling Wines, Jota Pe.
