Chardonnay

This masterfully blended white wine has lovely pineapple andripe melon flavours on the nose, following through to a limy, fullmiddle-palate and finishing in crisp freshness.

Light golden straw in colour, the Banrock Station Colombard Chardonnay displays aromas of lifted fresh citrus blossom and limes with just a hint of passionfruit. Very delicate oak undertones. The palate is has fresh citrus and floral flavours with great length. Careful lees stirring has given a creamy texture, adding to the palate weight and giving a nice round mouth feel to the wine. Subtle oak adds sweetness to the palate, adding complexity to the wine, while allowing the fruit flavours to show through.

Vibrant yellow with green reflections with aromas of melon and citrus fruit. Full-bodied, crisp and refreshing, with flavors of papaya, grapefruit and lime. Delicious with a variety of salads, seafood, pastas, sushi and chicken. The perfect match for assorted picnic fare.

Our 2007 Monterey Chardonnay displays fresh aromas of citrus with notes of pineapple. The palate is rich, with full entry and flavors of tropical mango and green grape. It finishes long and warm with ripe flavors returning.

This is our best Chardonnay. The 2006 vintage is crafted from selected lots from Napa Valley it displays aromas of spicy cinnamon toast, apple pie crust and ripe honeydew melon. The palate is medium bodied with apple flavors surrounded by toffee yeast. It finishes with balanced acidity that maintains lively flavor notes.

Our 2006 Chardonnay has a bright, golden color with aromas of tropical fruit complemented by vanilla and hazelnut. On the palate, the wine has a full mouthfeel with flavors of pear, apple, and citrus, which lead into a long finish with a hint of oak.

Bright yellow grass in color, this wine shows a very intense and complex nose with notes of passion fruit and lemon typical of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. The palate is concentrated, powerful and fresh with a nice balance of flavors and a long clean finish.

At a tasting from a tube that was opened two weeks previously and stored in Mr. Johnnes's refrigerator, the wine tasted light and lively - a good everyday white with appreciable citrus notes. This wine combines Macabeo - the premier white grape of this region - with Chardonnay. The result is a dry, refreshing white, which is both full of fruity, with a hint of peach and citrus flavours.
