2010 La Petite Frog Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul de Pinet: If your palate prefers leaner wine, you’ll enjoy this white from southern France, with its zippy citrus and mineral hints. (Importer: Kysela Pere et Fils)

2009 R. Muller Landwein Rhein Riesling: The German category of Landwein (country wine) falls between tafelwein (table wine) and the QbA designations. Apricot and lichee; lighter-bodied and relatively sweet, but still considered off-dry.

Tasting Notes

Shiraz is a young red wine of great importance in northeastern Brazil. This wine has good color intensity with hues from ruby to violet and purple. It has an aromatic intensity, harmonizing well the aromas of fruit and oak. Aroma descriptors include whiskey, mushroom, roasted coffee, prunes, chocolate, violet, tobacco, raspberry, coconut, red berries, spices. This shiraz taste well structure and balance, with sweet tannins and the fresh finish of a young wine. The wine’s ideal serving temperature is between 14º and 15ºC.

Food Pairings

Miolo Terranova Shiraz pairs well with grilled red meats, rabbit, vatapá, acarajé, polenta with emmental
cheese, pizza, pasta al sugo or with light sauces, fresh tomatoes with basil, cheese, rice with almonds or pistachios, risotto, cappelletti in broth, light soups, hamburgers and Italian piadinas.
